How to connect a Telegram channel to KnockAds
The two ways to connect a channel (link analysis or bot check), the three conditions to meet and what to do if the connection stops.
In short
You can connect a channel in two ways: paste the link and KnockAds analyzes it (recommended), or add the bot as an administrator and forward a post from the channel. Either way you need three things: the bot and you are both administrators of the channel, and the channel is being registered for the first time.
The three conditions, whichever way you connect
Before accepting the channel, KnockAds verifies three things: the bot is an administrator of the channel (it needs that to publish and remove ads), you are an administrator or the creator too, and the channel is not already registered. If one of the three does not hold, the connection stops and the bot tells you which.
First way: link analysis (recommended)
You paste the channel link, in the form t.me/name or @name, and KnockAds analyzes it. It gets the number of subscribers, the average views of the last 50 posts, the description, the language and a suggested category with two alternatives.
The server saves subscribers and average views, and in the app they carry the “Certified” label because they cannot be edited from the browser. If the analysis service does not answer, the app tells you and you can switch to the second way.
Second way: check with the bot
You open the bot from the button the app shows you, add it as an administrator of the channel and forward a post from the channel into the chat with the bot. From that post the bot works out which channel it is, runs the three checks and reads the number of subscribers from Telegram.
The verification session lasts 30 minutes, then you start again. Average views stay at zero, because the bot cannot read them: if you need them, use the link analysis.

After the connection
You fill in the name, category and language of the channel. The category comes already suggested and you confirm it; a sensitive category is not prefilled. If the channel needs it, you can pick more than one category and more than one language. How all this turns into earnings is explained in this guide. Then you set the slot calendar and, if you like, ad approval: this article covers both.
- Channel nameHow you will see it in the app.
- Category and languageConfirm the suggestion, or change it.
- Days and hoursThe calendar of one-hour slots.
- ApprovalOptional, ad by ad.
Illustrative diagram: it shows the logic, not real numbers.
If something goes wrong
- The bot does not appear as an administrator: add it from the channel settings, among the administrators, and try again.
- You do not appear as an administrator: you are using a Telegram account with no role in the channel. Switch to the one that administers it.
- Channel already registered: a channel is connected only once.
- Session expired: start again from the check-with-the-bot button.
Once the channel is connected, this article explains what the bot does in your channel.
Frequently asked questions
Why are the average views zero?
In the connection through the bot, KnockAds cannot read them. With the link analysis it reads them from the channel and the server saves them.
How long does the verification session last?
Thirty minutes. If it runs out, you start again from the check-with-the-bot button.
Can I connect the same channel twice?
No. A channel can be registered only once.
