How the minimum price per click is set, category by category
The minimum per click depends on the category tier and on the market tier of the channel language: the table of values and how to use it.
In short
The minimum price of a click depends on the tier of the channel category and the market tier of its language. The base minimum runs from €0.12 to €0.40 and the language multiplies it by 1.5, by 1 or by 0.6. You pay only for valid clicks.
Minimum price, suggested CPC and price paid
- The suggested CPC is the click price the app proposes when you create the campaign. You see it for each category and language pair.
- The minimum price is the lowest price per click for a pair. KnockAds sets it for each pair and you see it in the app before you launch.
- The price paid is what you are charged for each valid click. Clicks that are not valid are not charged.
- Minimum priceThe lowest price per click for the pair.
- Price paidFixed at assignment, for every valid click.
- Suggested CPCFor one click you pay no more than this.

The price paid is fixed when the ad is assigned to a channel and holds for that publication: every click on that post costs the same amount.
How the minimum is calculated
The minimum of a pair is the minimum of the category multiplied by a coefficient that depends on the language of the channel, rounded to the cent. The 42 categories are split into four price tiers: tier 1 has 3 categories, tier 2 has 7, tier 3 has 14 and tier 4 has 18.
| Category tier | High-tier languages×1.5 | Mid-tier languages×1 | Low-tier languages×0.6 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 · 3 categories | €0.60 | €0.40 | €0.24 |
| Tier 2 · 7 categories | €0.45 | €0.30 | €0.18 |
| Tier 3 · 14 categories | €0.30 | €0.20 | €0.12 |
| Tier 4 · 18 categories | €0.18 | €0.12 | €0.07 |
- High-tier languages German, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Icelandic, Japanese, Korean, Hebrew.
- Mid-tier languages English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Greek, Arabic, Hindi, Indonesian, Thai, Vietnamese and others.
- Low-tier languages All the others, for example Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Albanian, Macedonian.
The values are the platform's starting values. In the app you always see the minimum currently in force for your pair, before you launch.
The weight of language
The language is the one the channel's content is written in. Languages are grouped in three market tiers: some multiply the minimum by 1.5, most leave it as it is, and the rest bring it down to 0.6. A language that is not in the lists falls in the low tier.
Across the 12 tier combinations the minimum runs from €0.07 (tier 4 in a low-tier language) to €0.60 (tier 1 in a high-tier language). How to choose category and language according to whom you want to reach is covered in the targeting guide.
How to use the minimum and the suggested CPC
In the last step of the campaign the app shows the minimum price and the suggested CPC of each pair. You see them while you create the campaign, and you pay only for valid clicks.
The step where you create the campaign, with the minimum price and the suggested CPC shown by the app, is described in this guide.
If you own a channel, category and language are the two choices that move the minimum of the clicks your channel can receive: the article on earning with a channel covers it.
